Am quickly loosing enthusiasm for Winds of Winter. First, it's too long between release dates and there are new books to capture my attention. Second, I am still not happy with his need to kill off the charactures I have become vested in time and time again. It would be shocking, but realistic to kill of a couple - but MOST of them? It's hard to remain invested in a story line when you have to start all over with new charactures. So he may be loosing one fan and one sale here.... not that he will notice, but it is a sad thing for me. Nothing better than a fun series of novels on the long nights in Minnesota (where winter IS coming).

Very sorry to live up to my name and show my cynicism here... but when I look at pictures of GRRM, I see a super morbidly obese older gentleman who is quite incorrectly assuming that he actually HAS five more years to write another book, let alone multiple books. He looks fat, gray, out of shape.... I can almost hear the labored breathing of COPD. I am not counting on ANY more finished books before he kicks the can and leaves us all pissed and wanting more that will never ever arrive. Yall are fools to pin your hopes on one fat old man surviving to complete these books. Dead man walking.

I personally believe in one head of dragon being Dany, then Jon who is the son of Rhaegar, and finally Tyrion who is the son of Aerys. That is why his father hated him so much, and his eyes are two different colors, which means he's half-Targeryan.

There is some more informations about HotU. There is another Daenerys chapter (after Davos/Tyrions battle and Sansas and Hounds) where she mets strong belwas and old man (don't remember his *fake* name). In this chapter DDaenerys speaks to Jorah mormont about Hotu (don't have english version so it may be inaccurate):

Why would you skim over the vision predicting the Red Wedding on the pretense that maybe somebody hasn't read ASoS read ... but then go on about Young Griff/Aegon and his story line from ADwD ?

While I trust in the accuracy of the vision, I do not trust in Rhaegar's conclusions about who is the Prince that was Promised.

It is mentioned in the books that Rhaegar believed himself to be the Prince who was promised. He could have been counting himself as one, his son Aegon as the second and his sister (who he seems to look at as he says it) as the third. She could be the "one more."

I do not believe there is any chance of the baby from the vision being Jon. First, the timing does not work out. One of the strongest pieces of evidence is support of the R+L=J theory is Lyanna dying on a bed on blood, implying childbirth. We know that Ned went to the Tower of Joy after the events at Kings Landing AND after lifting the siege on Storm's End. Therefore, Rhaegar had to have been dead for a period of at least weeks prior to the events at the Tower of Joy. Rhaegar could not have been present at Jon's birth based on how the timeline looks. The strongest evidence by far, in my opinion is the fact that he named the son Aegon. Jon was born AFTER Aegon, and so this would have been his second son named Aegon. Wouldn't that be a little silly.

I think the best answer is that Rhaegar knew his SON would be TPTWP, but was wrong about WHICH son. I am of the belief that Aegon is not actually Rhaegar's son, based on prophesies rather than based on how he was introduced.
